The case top and sides are varnished natural light wood, the back and front panels painted - both are quickly removable should alternative finishes be needed.
This organ was built as a prototype to add to the main Topsy 3 building instructions. I have used this - undecorated - at home and rallies for the last 12 months, proving it to be a very useful format, loud enough outdoors but nice enough to use indoors. Like all my designs it was built to fill specific needs: namely light weight (approximately half that of Topsy 3) and easy to turn, or play for extended periods from the integral motor.

The musical scale is based on the Pell 25 note - a very useful scale as it uses some of the same notes as the larger fair organ scales. This means that music played on this organ will also play on Topsy 3.   In addition to this primary scale, by adding the extra pipes it is easy to adjust music arranged for the very popular 20 and 26 note scales.

Hand turning the organ is very light and only needs to be at about 40 turns per minute.   The optional drive motor can be quickly fitted with one thumb screw. It uses the same three speed control I designed for Topsy 3, giving very efficient use of battery power - batteries up to 15 AH can be fitted in the organ which will run it all day.
